Fiberbio received Diaspora Start Up support

We have successfully applied for 40,000 reasons to start a business in Romania! program, which was implemented in the framework of the Diaspora Start Up call between 2017 and 2018. The program was aimed at Romanian citizens living in Hungary and residing in Hungary who are planning to start a business in Romania. Among the more than 100 applicants, Fiberbio’s idea was eventually included in a selection of 32 winning applications that became eligible for individual mentoring and a € 40,000 non-refundable grant.

Concerning the birth of the business idea, Péter Hantz told the Diaspora team: “The idea for my business was to see a number of trucks throwing squeezed apple fiber in the trash, which is the most valuable part of the fruit from a nutritional point of view. Just that week, I read a summary article about how little fiber and how much sugar we eat and how it destroys the diversity of the gut microbiome and how many diseases it promotes.
